November 2022 - December 2022

Hello Students,

 

The last two months have gone by quickly and we are almost at the end of 2022. It’s been a busy year for everyone and I hope you all have a lovely holiday. What will you do during the Christmas holiday? Will you travel? If so, where will you go? You can always share your news with Teacher Ham. Remember, don’t be shy – just give it a try!

 

I’d like to give a big BLKT welcome to our new teachers – Miss Rashi and Mr Dieterwho have recently joined us. When you see them at school be sure to say hello and introduce yourselves.

 

I hope 2023 will be better for everyone. Do you have a New Year’s resolution? A New Year’s Resolution is when we make a promise to ourselves to do something or improve something. For example, some people may want to eat healthier, do more exercise, read more books etc. What is your resolution? This year, Teacher Ham has many resolutions. Can you guess? During one assembly for P4-6 on the 23^rd of November, I gave a short presentation via ZOOM about the benefits of Positive Values. You may re-visit the page I created to view some of the concepts behind positive thinking and why it is very important for us. We are what we think!

If you wish to draw a picture, write a poem or short story about Positive Values and / or to express your feelings about it please do so. You may pass it on to me and if you like, I will upload it to our page. We are always happy to showcase the wonderful talents our students have.

Did you have a nice Halloween? What did you do? Did you go trick or treating with your friends? I went trick or treating with my family and I saw many children and adults dressed up as witches, vampires, skeletons, monsters, zombies and pumpkins. I even saw Belle, Jasmine, Aladdin, a Teletubby and Pikachu too! We shared candies and had a fun time. Thank you to all of you who drew or painted pictures for Halloween. They were all absolutely beautiful and all the teachers were very impressed by your skills in artwork. I wish I could draw pictures as nice as you all! Huge congratulations to our four students from last years’ English Radio Drama Team for reaching the Semi-Finals of the 14^th English Radio Drama Competition held by Smart Education. One of our students is now in F1 but she popped back to BLKT to say hi! It’s always nice to see our old students as you get taller and I get shorter! You can view the performance video here:

Football World Cup Fever has arrived. Every four years the World Cup is held. Does anyone know where this year’s World Cup is held? Who do you think will win this year’s competition? Who is your favourite team. Who is your favourite player? I liked playing football when I was a boy. My favourite player was Zinedine Zidane of France.

How many countries have won the World Cup?

 

In December, it is Teacher Ham’s birthday. Who can guess how old Teacher Ham is? If you know, you can tell me and I will give you a chop! I’ll give you a clue, I’m over one hundred years old!
